CrApPy HaLlOwEeN!

So Jace and I had a pretty crappy Halloween! It was okay for most of the day but Daya wasn't feeling well and started getting a cough. Then that night she got a fever of 100.7 and we had to take her to the ER at 2 am. When we got there they said her fever was back down to 99.6 so that was good, but we knew something was wrong. They then proceeded to poke and prod her with every test and every needle! It was the saddest thing ever! You can see in the picture where they have an IV in her little hand. They had to try and draw her blood but her veins are still too small so they just ended up putting 5 holes in both her little hands! It was the worst thing in the world to watch! They did so many other awful tests as well. But I was so proud of her. When they did the first needle to draw blood she didn't even squirm or cry. There were 3 nurses in there to hold her down but they didn't need to. They couldn't believe it. Frankly neither could I! She is such an amazing baby and was so strong! Needless to say it was a very long night. All the test results came back fine except for the H1N1 and Flu tests, which take 24 hours. So we went home and just hoped for the best. But then on Monday morning I got a call from the ER doctor who told me that my sweet baby girl tested positive for Swine Flu and regular Flu! I felt sick to my stomache! I felt like the worst Mother in the world. She is just barely 2 months old. Luckily we had a Dr. appointment already scheduled for that day. So we went and saw him and by that time she was already feeling a lot better and her fever was long gone. He just put her on the antibiotic Tamiflu and said she would be just fine! She is doing so much better now. I'm so grateful to Heavenly Father for watching over her and for all the answered prayers! Definitely something I never want to experience again, but I'm afraid it just comes with being a parent, and from what I hear it doesn't get any easier as they get older. Joy. So that was our eventful Halloween. One that I never want to experience again.

Ugh, that sucks. I'm so glad she's okay!! Thank goodness for a merciful God... prayer's amazing. Good job for staying faithful!
